The Crail is a variation on the traditional one-button fastening Argyll kilt jacket. Instead of the Argyll's gauntlet cuffs, it has a distinctive elegant and unfussy one button sleeve. Like the Argyll, the Crail is the standard day-wear kilt jacket, which is versatile for a variety of semi-formal or formal occasions. Our beautifully tailored Tweed Crail Jackets have the option of adding a matching waistcoat. Made from pure wool to give a luxurious feel.

Features:
  • Imitation horn buttons available in black or brown; or metal buttons, available in chrome or antique silver.
  • Single button fastening. Please specify in the notes if you would like a metal chain link (only available with metal buttons), as shown in the pictures above.
  • Traditional Crail one-button cuff.
  • Optional Epauletts
  • Internal pocket
  • Available in a range of tweeds
Measuring advice:
  • Chest: measure around the chest at under-arm height, while wearing a shirt or t-shirt, with your arms by your side.
  • Waist: measure around the waist at roughly naval height - in line with the top of the hips. *This is higher than where your trousers sit*. Let us know if you're wearing your kilt when you do this, as it can sometimes add to your waist or act as a girdle.
  • Sleeve length: find a suit jacket you already own that fits well, and measure from the shoulder seam down to the cuff.
  • Back length: measure from the nape of the neck (where the top of your shirt sits) to the base of the spine - where your tailbone sticks out. This is a tricky measurement to take, so give us your height as well so we can check it.

It is recommended, where possible, to take your waist measurement over your kilt. However, if this is not possible we can factor this in.

If you cannot find a colour suitable, please contact us and we can source other tweeds.
