The two-button Kilkenny is a variation on the one-button Argyll, developed to cater for Irish kilt wearers. This is a standard day-wear kilt jacket, versatile for a variety of semi formal or formal occasions. The Traditional Kilkenny Jacket can be worn with or without a 5 button vest and is usually accompanied with a belt and buckle set when a waist coat is not worn.

Our jackets are made from 100% 19oz Barathea Wool to give a luxurious feel.

Features:
  • Plain, Braided or no epaulettes
  • Irish buttons or imitation horn buttons available in black or brown; or metal buttons.
  • Two or one button fastening, or chainlink close.
  • Traditional three-button chevron cuff.
  • Internal pocket.
  • Available in Bottle Green (as shown), Black, Rifle Green, Minch Blue, Navy Blue or Red.
Measuring advice:
  • Chest: measure around the chest at under-arm height, while wearing a shirt or t-shirt, with your arms by your side.
  • Waist: measure around the waist at roughly naval height - in line with the top of the hips. *This is higher than where your trousers sit*. Let us know if you're wearing your kilt when you do this, as it can sometimes add to your waist or act as a girdle.
  • Sleeve length: find a suit jacket you already own that fits well, and measure from the shoulder seam down to the cuff.
  • Back length: measure from the nape of the neck (where the top of your shirt sits) to the base of the spine - where your tailbone sticks out. This is a tricky measurement to take, so give us your height as well so we can check it.
It is recommended, where possible, to take your waist measurement over your kilt. However, if this is not possible we can factor this in.
