Brand: Gaelic Themes

The SheriffmuirDoublet is a traditional piece of evening wear, worn with a kilt and with high collar and gauntlet cuffs. In the past this was usually worn with a large lace jabot, although increasingly it is worn with a necktie or rouche tie (as shown) under the waistcoat. The Sheriffmuir also takes a shoulder plaid for more formal occasions.

This jacket is supplied with a five button waistcoat.

Our jackets are made from 100% 19oz Barathea Wool or Tweed to give a luxurious feel.

Features:
  • Plain or Braided epaulettes
  • Polished 'Clann na Gael' or Irish Harp metal buttons, available in chrome or antique silver
  • Traditional button link fastening
  • Traditional three-button gauntlet cuff
  • Internal pocket
  • Available in Black (as shown), Bottle Green, Rifle Green, Minch Blue, Navy Blue or Red.
Measuring advice:
  • Chest: measure around the chest at under-arm height, while wearing a shirt or t-shirt, with your arms by your side.
  • Waist: measure around the waist at roughly naval height - in line with the top of the hips. *This is higher than where your trousers sit*. Let us know if you're wearing your kilt when you do this, as it can sometimes add to your waist or act as a girdle.
  • Sleeve length: find a suit jacket you already own that fits well, and measure from the shoulder seam down to the cuff.
  • Back length: measure from the nape of the neck (where the top of your shirt sits) to an inch-and-a-half below where the top of your kilt sits. This is a tricky measurement to take, so give us your height as well so we can check it.
It is recommended, where possible, to take your waist measurement over your kilt. However, if this is not possible we can factor this in.
